Is there a chance of us being more than friends?

I really like this girl and im really good friends with her (we're 17 and 16). Im a good looking guy, muscular, popular fairly clever definitely in her league. I told her how i felt and she said she wanted to stay friends because she valued our friendship and shes said shes been hurt a lot in the past and she didn't want to get too close to someone who could do that again.We're as close as ever and i might be miss reading the signals but i think she likes me, like i was going out yesterday and she asked if i was going to get some and she also said in another conversation i hope im the only girl you talk to this much, like both times i though she was sort of jealous. We always chat loads and get on so well. Normally id give up and just be happy as friends, but even when i told how i feel her answer wasn't straightforward, she always suggest we hang out and she always complement me. Shes been hurt by guys in the past so is it possible she actually likes me and was just a scared of being hurt. Can we be more than friends, is she actually interested in me or does she just wants to be friends?
