Why do people think that it's okay to have exotic pets?

Wild animals should stay in the wild.They aren't meant to be pets.I was just watching this tv show,and they were talking about how people had monkeys,lions,cougars,etc. and eventually as these "cute" animals got older,they attacked their owners.One lady's pet tiger mauled her 4 year old granddaughter and she had to go to the hospital.Another woman had a pet monkey,the monkey went crazy one day and attacked her friend.It took off her nose,her eyelids,her lips,and some small body parts.Another guy's cougar broke out of it's cage and f****d his jaw up and bit him in the face.Why don't people understand that these animals are wild by nature,and yeah their cute when their young,but they grow up to be big predators,and they can kill you and most of the time you don't even see it coming.They shouldn't try to make them into pets.Their just putting themselves and other people in danger.People are so stupid sometimes.What's your take on this?
